Cost of Medical Education and Implications of Losses to the Costs During Education Process

Tıp Eğitimi Maliyeti ve Eğitim Sürecinde Ortaya Çıkan Kayıpların Maliyetlere Etkisi

Abstract

Education ProcessTraining hospital costs have been strikingly increasing in recent years. Costs of training in hospitals engaged in training health care professionals have increased more than the average educational costs. Therefore, managers of health institutions try to understand the share of the cost of medical education in training hospitals. With this research, Gülhane Military Medical Academy (GATF) between the years of 2005-2010the effects of the tendency of training cost and the losses during thetraining are to be defined on the cost.We observed that the unit costs per student have increased 49,7% during the scholar periods between 2005-2010 in The Gulhane Military Medical Academy. When we consider that the other factors are fixed, we can display that one of the most important reasons for this increase is that the ratio of negative capacity variance, which was about 10% in 2005, went up to 39,78% in 2010. In addition, we identified that in scholar year of 2009-2010, failure of contestants for graduation, grade repetition and dropping out of school for any reason have increased the costs for 1.9 times more for this scholarly year.

Eğitim hastanesi maliyetleri son yıllarda dikkat çekici şekilde artmaktadır. Sağlık profesyonellerinin yetiştirilmesi görevini de yapan eğitim hastanelerinde eğitim maliyetleri de ortalama üzerinde bir artış göstermektedir. Dolayısı ile sağlık kurum yöneticileri tıp eğitimi maliyetlerinin eğitim hastaneleri üzerindeki paylarını anlamaya çalışmaktadır.Bu araştırma ile Gülhane Askeri Tıp Fakültesi (GATF)'nin 2005-2010 yılları arasındaki eğitim maliyetlerinin eğilimi ve eğitim sürecindeki kayıpların maliyetler üzerindeki etkileri belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Gülhane Askeri Tıp Fakültesinin 2005-2010 yılları arasındaki eğitim dönemlerinde öğrenci başına düşen birim maliyetlerinin %49,7 oranında arttığı gözlemlenmiştir. Diğer faktörlerin sabit olduğu düşünüldüğünde bu artışın en önemli sebeplerinden birisi, 2005 yılında %10 olan olumsuz kapasite sapma oranının2010 yılında %39,78'e çıkması olarak gösterilebilir. Ayrıca, 2009-2010 eğitim-öğretim yılı mezunları için başarısızlık, sınıf tekrarı ve herhangi bir nedenle okuldan ayrılmanın maliyetleri 1,9 kat artırdığı tespit edilmiştir.
