An Institutional History in Turkey: A Literature Review

Abstract

In this study characteristics of certain types of works penned in corporate history through published works on the history of institutions in Turkey it intended to put forward. In the study, firstly, the history of the institution was defined, after briefly mentioning the subjects of institution history, the formal features, purposes, perspectives adopted in institution history writing, titles used, and problems encountered were discussed. In addition to suggestions for institutional history studies, the contributions of the studies to the field of history were also mentioned. The study provided examples of the topics covered almost entirely, so that the assessment has been made about their work history institutions in Turkey.

Özet

Bu çalışmada Türkiye’de kurum tarihiyle ilgili yayınlanan eserler üzerinden kurum tarihi türünde kaleme alınan eserlerin belli başlı hususiyetlerinin ortaya koyulması amaçlanmıştır. Çalışmada öncelikle kurum tarihi tanımlanmış, kurum tarihlerinin konularından kısaca bahsedildikten sonra, kurum tarihi türündeki eserlerin biçimsel özellikleri, amaçları, kurum tarihi yazımında benimsenen bakış açıları, kullanılan başlıklar, karşılaşılan problemler üzerinde durulmuştur. Kurum tarihi çalışmaları için önerilerde bulunulduğu gibi, çalışmaların tarih alanına katkılarından da bahsedilmiştir. Çalışmada ele alınan başlıkların hemen hemen tamamıyla ilgili örnekler verilmiş, böylece Türkiye’deki kurum tarihi çalışmalarıyla ilgili değerlendirmelerde bulunulmuştur.
