The effect of application of internal nasal splint for septoplasty on eustachian tube funtion

Abstract
We have investigated the preoperative and postoperative eustachian tube function of 26 patients who had nasal packing and another 20 patients who had internal nasal splint after septoplasty by acoustic impedansmetry. We have statistically observed significant eustachian tube dysfunction for nasal packing group but no statistically difference for the internal nasal splint group.

Septum cerrahisi sonrasında burun içi tampon uygulanan 26 hasta ile internal nazal splint uygulanan 20 hastanın preoperatif ve postoperatif östaki tüpü fonksiyonları akustik impedansmetri ile incelendi. Burun içi tampon uygulanan hastalarda istatistik olarak belirgin östaki fonksiyon bozukluğu izlendi, ancak internal nazal splint uygulanan hastalarda istatistik olarak anlamlı bir östaki fonksiyon değişikliği saptanmadı.
