The otolaryngologic manifestations of scleroderma in a case

Abstract
Scleroderma, is a systemic and progressive disease which tends to involve different types of organs and systems with abnormal connective tissue synthesis. The disease usually begins with Raynaud’s phenomenon. Death may be seen due to the excessive involvement of organs like heart, kidneys and lungs. In this report a patient with the diagnosis of scleroderma with the complaints of dysphagia and difficulty in opening the mouth is presented with the review of literature.
Özet
Skleroderma konnektif dokunun anormal sentezi sonucunda ortaya çıkan skleroz ile karakterize, sebebi bilinmeyen, değişik seviyelerdeki organ ve sistemleri tutmaya eğilimli sistemik ve ilerleyici bir hastalıktır. Hastalık genellikle Raynaud fenomeni ile başlar. Kalp böbrek ve akciğer gibi organlardaki yaygın visseral tutulum nedeniyle ölüm görülebilir. Yutma güçlüğü ve ağız açmada kısıtlılık şikayetleri ile gelen sklerodermalı bir hastada bu hastalığın otolaringolojik belirtileri literatür bilgileri ile karşılaştırılarak sunuldu.
