Gençlerde Nesiller Arası Normatif Dayanışma ve Empati Düzeyi Araştırması

Abstract

The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between intergenerational normative solidarityand empathy level in young people. The study sample consisted of 500 young people betweenthe ages of 18 and 29 selected by convenience sampling. As the data collection tool, the Scale forthe Determination of Intergenerational Normative Solidarity and the Empathy Level in Families wereused. A t-test and analysis of variance (ANOVA) were conducted to determine whether there wasa relationship and a significant difference between the variables. The direction and strength of thebilateral relationships were determined by correlation analysis. The results of the study revealed thatthe normative solidarity scores and empathy levels of young people were close to high. Significantdifferences were revealed between normative solidarity in young people and their gender, parents’educational status, and perceived income status. Furthermore, a positive relationship was foundbetween normative solidarity and empathy level in young people. This study’s contribution to theliterature is that it establishes a link between empathy levels and normative solidarity, which is centralin protecting and sustaining social values and further constitutes a dimension of intergenerationalsolidarity.

Bu araştırmanın amacı, gençlerde nesiller arası normatif dayanışma ve empati düzeyi arasındakiilişkinin incelenmesidir. Araştırmanın örneklemini kolay ulaşılabilir örnekleme yöntemi ile seçilen 18-29 yaş arası 500 genç oluşturmuştur. Veri toplama aracı olarak, Ailelerde Nesiller Arası NormatifDayanışma Ölçeği ve Empati Düzeyi Belirleme Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Değişkenler arasında ilişki veanlamlı bir farklılık olup olmadığının belirlenmesi için t-testi, Anova kullanılmıştır. İkili ilişkilerin yönüve gücü ise, korelasyon analizi ile belirlenmiştir. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre, gençlerin normatifdayanışma puanlarının ve empati düzeylerinin yüksek düzeylere yakın olduğu belirlenmiştir. Gençlerdenormatif dayanışma ile cinsiyet, ebeveyn eğitim durumu ve algılanan gelir durumu arasında anlamlıfarklılıklar bulunmuştur. Ayrıca gençlerde normatif dayanışma ile empati düzeyi arasında pozitif birilişki bulunmuştur. Bu araştırma ile, toplumsal değerlerimizin korunması ve sürdürülebilmesi içinoldukça önemli olan ve nesiller arası dayanışmanın bir boyutunu oluşturan normatif dayanışma ileempati düzeyi belirlenerek literatüre katkıda bulunulacağı düşünülmektedir.
