Abstract
Child abuse/neglect has for a long time been recorded in literature of science in many parts of the world. In recent years, the awareness of child abuse/neglect has increased in Turkey. The purpose of this article is to define child abuse/neglect and to attract the attention to this important issue.

Çocuk istismarı ve ihmali dünyanın birçok ülkesinde bilim literatüründe yer alan bir konudur. Son yıllarda Türkiye'de çocuk istismarı ve ihmaline olan ilgi ve farkındalık artmaktadır. Bu makalenin amacı, çocuk istismarı/ihmalini tanıtmak, toplumun ve sağlık çalışanlarının dikkatini konuya çekmektir.
