Opinions of School Administrators on the Evaluation of the in-Service Programs

OKUL YÖNETİCİLERİNİN HİZMETİÇİ EĞİTİM PROGRAMLARINA İLİŞKİN GÖRÜŞLERİ

Abstract

The aim of this study is to investigate the opinions of school administrators about the evaluation of in-service training programs. The population of this correlational survey study includes a total of 119 primary and secondary school administrators in the province of Kars during 2016-2017 academic years. Data gathered through questionnaires were analyzed with statistical package computer program according to the answers given by the managers, their ages, gender, occupational seniority, number of in-service training activities and educational status. The results showed that while the managers who are 30 years old and older thought it was helpful to find good ways for teachers working in their schools to continue their work thanks to in-servicetraining activities, the managers who are younger than 30 years old thought the reverse. Also, some of the administrators stated that because of the personality characteristicsof the personparticipating in the seminar, in-service training programs did not help them sufficiently to understand the duties and responsibilities of the school personnel

Özet

Bu araştırmanın temel amacı, okul yöneticilerin hizmetiçi eğitim programlarına ilişkin görüşlerinin tespit edilmesidir. İlişkisel tarama modelinde ele alınan çalışmanın evrenini 2016-2017 eğitim-öğretim yılında Kars ili genelindeki toplam 119 ilkokul ve ortaokulda görev yapan yöneticiler oluşturmaktadır. Anket ve görüşme yoluyla toplanan veriler, bilgisayar ortamında istatistik paket programı ile yöneticilerin verdiği cevaplar doğrultusunda yaş, cinsiyet, mesleki kıdem, yapılan hizmetiçi eğitim faaliyeti sayısı ve eğitim durumuna göre analiz edilmiştir. 30 yaş ve üzerindeki okul yöneticileri hizmetiçi eğitim faaliyetlerinin okullarında çalışan öğretmenlerin çalışmalarını sürdürebilmeleri için iyi yollar saptamada yardımcı olduğunu düşünmekteyken, 30 yaş altı yöneticilerin bu görüşte olmadığı görülmüştür. Yine yöneticilerin bir kısmı, seminere katılan kişinin kişilik özelliğinden dolayı, hizmetiçi eğitim programlarının okul personelinin görevleri ve sorumluluklarını anlamalarına yeterince yardımcı olmadığını ifade etmişlerdir
