A Cross-Cultural Study Related to Teacher Methapors (Turkey and Ahiskan)

ÖĞRETMEN METAFORLARINA İLİŞKİN KÜLTÜRLERARASI BİR ÇALIŞMA(TÜRKİYE VE AHISKA)1

Abstract

This study was conducted to reveal the metaphors of the students from Ahıska origin who have been forced to live in the world's various countries and currently studying in Turkey and the other students at the Kafkas University about concept of teacher. Aim of this study is to fınd out the similarities and differences between the two groups. The study was applied at Kafkas University. Descriptive research method was used in this research. This method aims reveal the present situation as it is. A content analysis technique was used to analyze the data. The study was carried out with 55 students from Ahiska origin university students from various countries and 66 university students from Turkey. As a result of the study, there was no significant difference between the two groups and the similarity between the two groups was found to be more intense

Özet

Bu çalışma, Dünya’nın çeşitli ülkelerinde yaşamak zorunda bırakılmış ve şu anda Türkiye’de öğrenim görmekte olan, Ahıska kökenli öğrenciler ile Kafkas Üniversitesi’nde öğrenim görmekte olan diğer öğrencilerin öğretmen kavramına ilişkin metaforlarını ortaya koymak, iki grup arasındaki benzerlikler ve farklılıkları tespit etmek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Araştırma, var olan durumu olduğu gibi ortaya koymayı amaçladığından betimsel bir araştırmadır. Verilerinin analizinde içerik analizi tekniği kullanılmıştır. Araştırmaya, Ahıska kökenli 55 üniversite öğrencisi ile Türkiye’den 66 üniversite öğrencisi katılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonucunda iki grup arasında önemli bir farklılığın olmadığı ve birbirlerine benzerliklerinin daha yoğun olduğu saptanmıştır.
