Solitary cecal diverticulitis mimicking cecum tumor

Abstract

Solitary cecal diverticulitis is one of the rare cause of acute abdomen and is usually detected in the patients who is operated for ap- pendectomy during surgery. In this case report, we aimed to present cecal diverticulitis which is operated with the diagnosis of acute appendicitis and mixed with intraoperative malignancy. For patients who is operated with pre-diagnosis of acute appendicitis, the cecum diverticulum should be kept in mind to approach rightly the tumours located in the cecum. Medical and surgical treatment should be formed to the clinic.

Özet

Soliter çekum divertiküliti akut karının nadir nedenlerinden birisidir ve genellikle apendektomi yapılmak amaçlı opere edilen hasta- larda ameliyat sırasında tespit edilir. Olgu sunumunda, akut apandisit ön tanısı ile opere edilen ve intraoperatif malignite ile karışan bir çekal divertikülit olgusunu sunmayı amaçladık. Akut apandisit ön tanısıyla opere edilen hastalarda cerrahın karşılaşabileceği çe- kum yerleşimli kitlelere doğru yaklaşım için çekum divertikülünün akılda tutulması gerekmektedir. Uygulanacak medikal ve cerrahi tedavi kliniğe göre şekillendirilmelidir.
