An Investigation of Computer-Aided Teaching Method on the Student Success for ‘Light’ Unit in the 7th Grade Science and Technology Course and Determination of Student Views on the Method

Abstract
The aim of this study is to determine the effects of Computer Assisted Instruction (BDÖY) and Traditional Instruction Method (GÖY) on student achievement, knowledge persistence level and student views on BDÖY in Science and Technology Course. The study was conducted by the 7th grade students of a state school during the 2013-2014 academic years. A mixed method was used in the study. Science Academic Achievement Test has been used as the data collection tool. As a result of the study, there was a significant difference in favor of the Computer Assisted Instructional Method Group (BDÖYG) according to the results of the last test and the information permanence test in terms of student success. When student opinions are examined, it has been determined that they have positive opinions such as 'facilitating learning' and 'having fun' for computer assisted teaching method.
Özet
Bu araştırmanın amacı, Fen ve Teknoloji Dersinde, Bilgisayar Destekli Öğretim Yöntemi (BDÖY) ile Geleneksel Öğretim Yönteminin (GÖY) öğrenci başarısına, bilgi kalıcılık düzeyine etkileri ve BDÖY ile ilgili öğrenci görüşlerinin belirlenmesidir. Araştırma 2013- 2014 eğitim- öğretim yılı içerisinde bir devlet okulunun 7.sınıf öğrencileriyle yapılmıştır. Araştırmada karma yöntem kullanılmıştır. Veri toplama aracı olarak ‘Fen Akademik Başarı Test’ kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda öğrenci başarısı acısından son test ve bilgi kalıcılık testi sonuçlarına göre Bilgisayar Destekli Öğretim Yöntemi Grubu (BDÖYG) lehine anlamlı fark görülmüştür. Öğrenci görüşleri incelendiğinde ise Bilgisayar Destekli Öğretim yöntemine yönelik ‘öğrenmeyi kolaylaştırdı, eğlenceliydi gibi olumlu görüşlerin olduğu belirlenmiştir.
