A SWOT ANALYSIS TO DETERMINE THE TOURISM POTENTIAL OF THE DEVELI AS A TOURISM DESTINATION

BİR TURİZM DESTİNASYONU OLARAK DEVELİ'NİN TURİZM POTANSİYELİNİ BELİRLEMEYE YÖNELİK BİR SWOT ANALİZİ

Abstract

This study aims to reveal the tourism potential of Develi district as an emerging tourism destination. Develi is a destination with a lot of tourism potentials, natural and cultural. The advantages, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of the destination have been evaluated with prestige. Within this scope, a SWOT matrix for the destination has been created, and the advantages and opportunities that Develi possesses have been revealed together with the weaknesses and threats they face at the same time. The findings have pointed out that Develi's tourism potential is being used effectively and that as a result the attractiveness and sustainability of its superiority are ensured. Various suggestions have been developed, including the promotion of tourism potential that Develi has in the light of the bulgum and the development of alternative tourism types based on this, and the promotion of tourism infrastructure investments.

Özet

Bu çalışma gelişmekte olan bir turizm destinasyonu olarak Develi ilçesinin turizm potansiyelini ortaya koymayı amaçlamaktadır. Develi, tarihi, tabi ve kültürel olmak üzere pek çok turizm potansiyeline sahip bir destinasyondur. Destinasyon, üstünlükleri, zayıflıkları, fırsatları ve tehditleri itibarı ile değerlendirilmiştir. Bu kapsamda destinasyona ilişkin bir SWOT matrisi oluşturulmuş, Develi'nin sahip olduğu üstünlükler ve fırsatlar aynı zamanda karşı karşıya kaldığı zayıflıklar ve tehditler ile birlikte ortaya konmuştur. Elde edilen bulgular, Develi'nin turizm potansiyelinin etkin bir şekilde kullanılmasını ve içsel çekicilik unsurlarının ve üstünlüklerinin sürdürülebilirliğinin sağlanmasını işaret etmiştir. Bulgular ışığında Develi'nin sahip olduğu turizm potansiyelinin ortaya çıkarılması ve buna dayalı olarak alternatif turizm çeşitlerinin geliştirilmesi ve turizm altyapı yatırımlarının teşvik edilmesi olmak üzere çeşitli öneriler geliştirilmiştir.
