Socio-Economic Structure of Koçarlı in the Mid-XIXth Century According to Temettuat Registers

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the socio-economic structure of Koçarlı that was a village of Sobuca District in the Sanjak of Aydın in the mid-XIXth century thanks to the data from temettuat registers no. 2559 and 16210, and dated 1844-45 (1260-61 in Islamic Calender). Koçarlı, one of the districts of Aydın city today, used to be the center of SobucaSubdistrict in the Sanjak of Aydın at the time when the registers were composed. The register about taxpayers in the temettuat registers about the Koçarlı Village is the unique and detailed data that had never been recorded at that time

Özet

Bu çalışmada, Aydın Sancağı'nın Sobuca Kazası'na bağlı Koçarlı Karyesi'nin XIX. yüzyıl ortalarındaki sosyo-ekonomik yapısı H. 1260-1261 tarihli 2559 ve 16210 numaralı temettuat defterlerindeki veriler bağlamında ele alınacaktır. Günümüzde Aydın İlinin ilçelerinden biri olan Koçarlı, sayımın yapıldığı dönemde Aydın Sancağı'nın Sobuca Kazası'nın merkezi konumundadır. Koçarlı Karyesi'ne ait temettuat defterlerindeki vergi mükellefleri kayıtları bu köy hakkında bu tarihe kadar tutulmamış en ayrıntılı malzemeyi oluşturmaktadır
