Theological Assessments on the Source and Value of Divine Healing in the Context of Tıbb an-Nabawī (Medicine of the Prophet)

Tıbb-ı Nebevî Bağlamında İlâhî Şifânın Kaynağı ve Değeri Üzerine Teolojik Değerlendirmeler

Abstract

Faced with many medical events during his lifetime, the Prophet Muhammad resorted to alternative methods as a solution. There are a large amount of hearsays that contain the treatment procedures and methods that he himself both applied and recommended to those around him. Over time, a self-contained literature on the subject emerged, and later this process took on a different dimension as the term of Tıbb an-Nabawī (Medicine of the Prophet). Many medicine practices and methods of the Prophet Muhammad who had human qualities as well as the nubuwwah ones, were sometimes removed from the original course by some, and even a simple treatment has been tried to be associated with the sanctity, and sometimes evaluated by ignoring his nubuwwah qualifications. In this study, the source and religious value of the related hearsays will be emphasized by being predicated the discussions upon different aspects of the Prophet's medical practices.

Özet

Yaşadığı dönemde birçok tıbbî olayla karşılaşan Hz. Peygamber çözüm olarak alternatif yöntemlere başvurmuştur. Gerek bizzat uyguladığı gerekse çevresindekilere tavsiye ettiği tedavi usûl ve yöntemlerini ihtiva eden hayli miktarda rivâyet mevcuttur. Zamanla konuyla ilgili müstakil bir literatür de ortaya çıkmış daha sonraları Tıbb-ı Nebevî tabiriyle bu süreç farklı bir boyut kazanmıştır. Nebevî vasfı yanında beşerî vasfı da bulunan Hz. Peygamber’in tıbba dair birçok uygulama ve yöntemleri kimi zaman bazıları tarafından asıl mecrasından çıkartılmış ve basit bir tedavi dahi kutsalla ilişkilendirilmeye çalışılmış, kimi zaman ise onun nübüvvet vasfı göz ardı edilerek değerlendirilmiştir. Bu çalışmada Hz. Peygamber’in tıbbî uygulamalarının farklı yönleri üzerinde yapılan tartışmalar esas alınarak ilgili rivâyetlerin kaynağı ve dinî değeri üzerinde durulacaktır.
