A Critical Look at Some Wrong Sirah and Sunnah Understandings -Examples of Congregations and Cults-

Yanlış Bazı Sîret ve Sünnet Anlayışlarına Eleştirel Bir Bakış -Cemaat ve Tarikat Örnekleri-

Abstract

Sirah, one of the most important branches of Islamic sciences, is a special concept used for the biography of Muhammad Mustafa, Prophet of Islam. Therefore, Hadith history and Sirah, biography of the Prophet, science are interrelated disciplines. So much so that while the Sirah science examines the Prophet Muhammad as a human and a prophet, Hadith science is more about the Prophet's prophetic duty, namely his religious lyric and behaviors. Since this delicate line between Sirah, biography of the Prophet Muhammad, and Hadith cannot be distinguished from the past to the present, some wrong Sirah and understandings of Sunnah, which are deliberately or inadvertently mediated by congregations and cults or their members who consider themselves the best practitioners of Islam, have brought many problems in Muslim societies throughout history including our present time. Consequently, many practices (wrong belief/superstition) that are opposed to each other and that have no place in the Koran and Hadith/Sunnah have emerged. However, Sirah and Sunnah are an extremely important integrative resource for Muslims, primarily from a moral and religious point of view.

Özet

İslamî ilimlerin önemli dallarından biri olan Siyer, İslam Peygamberi Hz. Muhammed Mustafa’nın biyografisi için kullanılan özel bir kavramdır. Dolayısıyla Hadis Tarihi ilmi ile Siyer ilmi iç içe girmiş disiplinlerdir. Şu kadar ki Siyer ilmi Hz. Peygamber’i insan ve peygamber olarak incelerken, Hadis ilmi daha çok Hz. Peygamber’in peygamberlik görevi gereği yani ‘dinî nitelikli söz ve davranışları’nı konu edinir. Geçmişten günümüze, Siyer ve Hadis arasındaki bu hassas çizgi ayırt edilemediği için, özellikle kendilerini İslam Dini’nin en iyi uygulayıcıları kabul eden cemaat ve tarikatların ya da mensuplarının, bilerek-bilmeyerek aracılık ettikleri yanlış bazı siyer ve sünnet anlayışları, içinde yaşadığımız süreç dahil, tarih boyunca müslüman toplumlarda birçok problemi de beraberinde getirmiştir. Neticede de birbirine karşıt, Kur’an ve Hadis/Sünnet’te yeri olmayan birçok uygulama (bid’at/hurafe) ihdas edilmiştir. Halbuki siyer ve sünnet müslümanlar açısından, öncelikle ahlâkî ve dinî bakımdan, son derece önemli birer bütünleştirici kaynaktır.
