School Violence and Mechanisms For Reducing It in The Algerian Society

Abstract

Abstract: In this article, we tried to spot the light on a crucial topic taking place in the Algerian society which is “the fact of violence in schools”. We built our study on findings and statistics drawn from different fields in various cities across the national territory. We put our focus on the social and the social and the educational construction of a society and its impact on both increasing and diminuating violence. The main pilar in this construction is family. This end is the major element for a non-violent education, full of love, tender and mutual respect. After that comes school which is as important as family since it works on building, redefining and educating anybody by following effective educational and pedagogical methods. However, if any of these elements dumbed its responsibility, then it causes all kinds of violence, the member within himself, within his family and within the whole society. It is the right time to ring the bell of danger. Here we ask ourselves the following questions: “how far violence exists in our schools? In other words, how violent are our students and what are the measures to be taken in order to prevent or at least to lessen the spread of the that phenomenon? A suitable solution came to mind. Both family and its complementary in educating the social members and working hand in hand to fight violence.

Öz: Bu makalede, Cezayir toplumunda önemli bir yer tutan “okullardaki şiddet olgusu”na ışık tutmaya çalıştık. Çalışmamızı,ülke genelinde çeşitli şehirlerdeki farklı alanlardan elde edilen bulgular ve istatistikler üzerine kurguladık. Toplumun sosyal ve eğitim yapısı ile şiddeti artırma ve azaltma üzerindeki etkisine odaklandık. Bu yapının temel direği de ailedir. Bu, şiddet içermeyen bir eğitim, sevgi dolu, şefkatli ve karşılıklı saygı için ana unsurdur. Aileden sonra ise, onun kadar önemli olan ve bir kimseyi etkili eğitim ve pedagojik yöntemleri izleyerek oluşturan, yeniden tanımlayan ve eğitmek için çalışan okul gelir. Bununla birlikte, eğer bu unsurlardan herhangi biri eksik olursa, şiddet tüm üyeleriyle birlikte ailenin, tüm unsurlarıyla birlikte okulun ve dolayısıyla tüm toplumun dili haline gelir. Bu da tehlike çanlarının çalması için doğru zamandır. Burada kendimize şu soruları yöneltiriz: “Okullarımızda ne kadar şiddet var?” Başka bir deyişle, “Öğrencilerimiz ne ölçüde şiddete eğilimlidir ve bu olgunun yayılmasını önlemek veya en azına indirmek için alınması gereken önlemler nelerdir?” Bunların mantıklı bir cevabı vardır. O da; hem ailenin hem de tamamlayıcısı olan okulun, toplumun üyelerinin eğitimi ve şiddete karşı mücadele hususundaki işbirliklerinin gerçek işlevlerini bir kez daha gözden geçirmeleri olacaktır.
