The determination of physical properties of some citrus fruits

Abstract
In this research, several physical properties of four citrus fruits (Citrus decumana) variety (Valencia orange, Interdonate Lemon, Red blush grapefruit, Satsuma mandarin) grown in the Antalya region were determined. These properties are necessary for the design of equipments for harvesting, processing, transportation, sorting, separating and packing. In this citrus fruits, the average fruit length, diameter, the geometric mean diameter, sphericity index, surface area, fruit mass, volume of fruit, fruit density, bulk density, porosity and projection area in x and y axis and their standard deviation were determined respectively.
Özet
Bu çalışmada, Antalya yöresinde yetişen dört farklı turunçgil (Citrus decumana) çeşidinin (Valencia portakalı, İnterdonate limonu, Red blush altıntopu ve Satsuma mandarini) birçok fiziksel özelliği belirlenmiştir. Bu belirlenen özellikler ürün işleme, hasat, taşıma, sınıflandırma ve paketleme ekipmanlarının tasarlanmasında gereklidir. Bu dört turunçgil meyvesinde sırasıyla uzunluk, çap, geometrik ortalama çap, küresellik, yüzey alanı, ürün ağırlığı, meyve hacmi, özgül ağırlığı, yığın hacim ağırlığı, boşluk oranı ve x-y düzlemindeki izdüşüm alanı belirlenmiştir.
