Potential Status of Agiri Population in the Context of 1935 Population Census

Abstract

One of the most important applications to reveal the population potential of a country is the census. Determining the number of people living in a particular geographical area helps to obtain very important information about the structure and location of the current location. Therefore population censuses has been done regularly in Turkey after proclamation of the Republic. One of these is the second census, which made in 1935 in the Republican period. The aim of this study is to reveal that the population of Agiri is a young and large population in the context of statistical data. In line with the aim of preparing the study titled Potential Status of Pain Population in the Context of 1935 Population Census, detailed information about the population of the province was tried to be given. Thus, the population of Ağrı has been examined in many ways and the population potential of the province has been revealed. Turkey Statistical Institute reports was used as the primary source documents in this study. In addition to these, the documents of the Presidential Republican Archives related to the 1935 Census were examined and researched and examined, thus, this study was revealed.

Özet

Bir ülkenin nüfus potansiyelini ortaya çıkarmak amacıyla yapılan en önemli uygulamalardan birisi nüfus sayımlarıdır. Belli bir coğrafi alanda yaşayan insanların sayısını tespit etmek, mevcut yerin yapısı ve konumu hakkında çok önemli bilgilerin elde edilmesine yardımcı olur. Bu nedenle Türkiye’de Cumhuriyet’in ilanından itibaren düzenli olarak nüfus sayımları yapılmıştır. Bunlardan birisi de Cumhuriyet döneminde yapılan 1935 tarihli ikinci nüfus sayımıdır. Bu çalışmadaki amaç, ülke genelinde olduğu gibi Ağrı nüfusunun da genç ve büyük bir nüfus olduğunu istatistik verileri bağlamında ortaya çıkarmaktır. 1935 Nüfus Sayımı Bağlamında Ağrı Nüfusunun Potansiyel Durumu adlı çalışmanın kapsamı, vilâyet nüfusuyla alakalı detaylı bilgilerin ortaya çıkarılmasıdır. Böylece Ağrı nüfusu birçok yönden ele alınarak vilâyetin nüfus potansiyeli ortaya çıkarılmıştır. Bu çalışmada Türkiye İstatistik Kurumu belgeleri temel kaynak olarak kullanılmıştır. TÜİK verileri dışında 1935 Nüfus sayımı ile alakalı Cumhurbaşkanlığı Cumhuriyet Arşivi belgeleriyle araştırma ve inceleme eserleri de incelenmiş ve söz konusu eser ortaya çıkarılmıştır.
