As a matter of fact, the role of the literary diary, which entered the field of literature in the 18th century as a narrative genre, cannot be separated from the historical process in the 20th century literature. In this study, the development process of the literary diary which provide information about personal life, has been handled with a historical perspective, within the context of the works written in each period of Russian literature.
