Applicability of Dramatization in Multi-Field Art Education Method: An Activity Exam

Abstract

The aim of the Visual Arts Course which is an important part of the general education program, is not to train artists but to train individuals who are aware of the beauties around them, have aesthetic sensibility, can use the creative power that they possess and most importantly, have the courage to think differently. It is unthinkable that a discipline field whose ultimate goal is not to train talented individuals who can produce highly qualified artistic products is only benefit from methods and techniques for the discipline of practice. For this reason, it is thought that new teaching methods should be introduced in the field of visual arts education or existing methods should be developed and brought into the education system. Based on these reasons the main objective of this research is to compare the traditional teaching methods that have been maintained throughout the period with the Multi-Field Art Education Method which is a contemporary learning method in art, and to demonstrate the applicability of dramatization activity in this method. In order to achieve this goal the screening model that one of the descriptive research methods was used in the study. As a result of the research, it was concluded that dramatization activity can be used within the context of Multi-Field Art Education Method.

Özet

Genel eğitim programının önemli bir bölümünü oluşturan Görsel Sanatlar dersinin salt amacı sanatçı yetiştirmek değil, çevresinde bulunan güzellikleri fark eden, estetik duyarlılığa sahip, bünyesinde barındırdığı yaratıcı gücü kullanabilen ve en önemlisi farklı düşünebilme cesaretine sahip bireyler yetiştirmektir. Nihai amacı çok nitelikli sanatsal ürünler ortaya koyabilen yetenekli bireyleryetiştirmek olmayan bir disiplin alanının yalnızca uygulama çalışmalarına yönelik yöntem ve tekniklerden beslenmesi düşünülemez. Bu nedenle Görsel Sanatlar eğitimi alanında yeni öğretim yöntemlerinin ortaya konması veya var olan yöntemlerin geliştirilerekeğitim sistemine kazandırılması gerektiği düşünülmektedir. Bu gerekçelerden hareketle salt uygulama disiplini kapsamında tüm dönemin yürütüldüğü geleneksel öğretim yöntemleri ile sanatta çağdaş bir öğrenme metodu olan Çok Alanlı Sanat Eğitimi Yöntemi’nin karşılaştırılması ve bu yöntemde dramatizasyon etkinliğinin uygulanabilirliğini ortaya koymak bu araştırmanın temel amacı olarak belirlenmiştir. Bu amaca ulaşabilmek için çalışmada betimsel araştırma yöntemlerinden biri olan tarama modelinden yararlanılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonucunda, Çok Alanlı Sanat Eğitimi Yöntemi kapsamında dramatizasyon etkinliğinden yararlanılabileceği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır
