Thiocolchicoside intoxication presenting with hematuria: Case report

Abstract
Thiocolchicoside is a muscle relaxant which has the same structure as colchicine used by adults. Like in colchicine intoxication can occur if it is taken in toxic doses, severe diarrhoea, vessel damage and kidney damage which may cause hematuria and oliguria. Pediatric usage is not appropriate. For this reason effects and side effects in toxic doses in children are not known. In this article a thiocolchicoside intoxication case appearing with hematuria and hemostatic disorder in pediatric usage is presented.
Özet
Thiocolchicoside kolşisin yapısında olan ve erişkinlerde kullanılan bir kas gevşeticidir. Toksik dozlarda alındığında kolşisin zehirlenmesinde görülebilen ciddi ishal, damar hasarı, hematüri ve oligüri ile seyreden böbrek sorunları görülebilir. Çocuklarda kullanımı uygun değildir. Bu nedenle çocuklarda thiocolchicoside kullanımına bağlı yan etkiler ve toksik dozda alındığında ortaya çıkan etkiler bilinmemektedir. Bu yazıda thiocolchicoside zehirlenmesi sonucu ortaya çıkan hematüri ve kanama diatezi gelişmiş bir vaka sunulmuştur.
