Constructivist religious education: The case of Grimmitt

Abstract

In this article, we will introduce and evaluate the religious education model based on the constructivism which was developed by Grimmitt. He has developed a constructivist religious education model by structuring a theoretical framework abstracted from different varieties of other constructivist theories, and in his model, he suggests some principles and strategies in religious education. This approach makes his method one of the first constructivist religious education models. Grimmit’s model plays an important role in presenting how the principles and hypotheses of constructivism could be practiced in religious education.

Bu makalede Grimmitt’in geliştirdiği yapılandırmacılığa dayalı din öğretimi modeli ana hatlarıyla tanıtılmakta ve değerlendirilmektedir. Grimmitt, yapılandırmacılık çeşitlerinden teorik bir çerçeve oluşturarak yapılandırmacı bir din öğretimi modeli geliştirmiş, modelinde din öğretiminde yapılandırmacılık temelinde ilkeler ve stratejiler önermiştir. Bu makale, din öğretiminde ilk örneklerinden birini oluşturan Grimmitt modelinde yapılandırmacılığın temel varsayım ve ilkelerinin din öğretimine nasıl aktarılacağını ve uygulanacağını göstermesi bakımından önem arz eder.
