Abstract

Percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) is one of the most frequent applications of interventional endoscopy. It has been widely used by gastroenterologists and general surgeons. Recently, it has been accepted as the first choice for the management of patients with feeding disorders by pediatric surgeons. Technical details and advantages of PEG was presented in an 8 year-old boy with cerebral palsy.

Özet

Perkütan endoskopik gastrostomi (PEG), girişimsel endoskopide en sık uygulanan işlemlerden biridir. Erişkin gastroenterologlar ve genel cerrahların sıklıkla kullandığı bu yöntem günümüzde beslenme problemi olan çocukların sağaltımında da çocuk cerrahlarının ilk tercihi olmaya başlamıştır. Serebral palsi nedeniyle beslenme problemi olan 8 yaşındaki erkek çocuğunda uygulanan perkütan endoskopik gastrostominin teknik ayrıntıları ve avantajları sunuldu.
