Abstract

By studying the history of translation's activities we can see that the tendance of "ethnocentricism" has influenced periodically the translations's activities and has produced the "ethnocentric" translation ("Belles Infideles"). Antoine Berman show us how the ethnocentricism has oriented the translations's activities during the history. His method of translation criticism that he developped to demonstrate th§ 'tendance of ethnocentricism in translation's work, is an important method for studying all dimension of translation's process. Finally, we constate that the tendance of "ethnocentricism" is a real cause of all accusations which condemn the translations's activities during the history, that it's very important to produce "the general theory of literary translation" and to determinate "the general aim and object of translation".

Özet

Etnikmerkezcilik eğiliminin çeviri olgusunu, belirli dönemlerde etkilediği, bu egilimin "etnikmerkezci" çeviri yaklaşımının dogmasma neden oldugu (orn. Les Belles Infideles) çeviri tarihi incelemelerinin bize sundugu bilgilerdir. Antoine Berman, etnikmerkezci çevirinin tarih boyunca çeviri etkinligini nasıl yönlendirdigini ortaya cıkarmıştır. Berman, Etnikmerkezcilik gibi çeviri etkinligini "asil amacından" yani toplumlar arasında bilgi, deneyim ve ekin aktanmini saglama amacindan saptiran ve belli bir sinifin, grubun ya da ulusun hizmetine sokan egilimlerin, bu etkinlikten bir an önce uzaklaştırılması gerektigini belirtmektedir. Bu amagla genet bir ceviri kurami ve ceviri eleştirisi yöntemi oluşturulmasının üzerinde önemle durmaktadır.
