Çeviride İdeolojik Eşdeğerlik Sağlanmasına Yardımcı Bir Yöntem Olarak Eleştirel Söylem Çözümlemesi

Critical Discourse Analysis as a Tool for the Achievement of Ideological Equivalence in Translation

Abstract

For a translator who views original texts not as random linguistic formations, but as historically, socially, culturally and intellectually situated discursive practices, an appreciation of the ideological content of the SL text is a sine qua non for the translation process. Analysing ideologically loaded forms and meanings in a text is explaining how the cognitive influences of social institutions and values have been coded in the structure of language. As a method that serves this purpose, "Critical Discourse Analysis" in linguistics can be a useful tool also for translation, especially when the translator feels a need to determine the ideologies in the SL text in order to achieve ideological equivalence in the TL text. Considering CDA as one of the linguistic issues that is relevant to translation theory, this paper, first, explains the basic principles of the method, and then, illustrates the processes on an example of Turkish poetry. Finally, a number of suggestions are provided, which would help the translator to look at the SL text more critically.

Ozgiin metinleri rastgele bicimlenmis, dilsel yapilar olarak degil, tarihsel, toplumsal, kulturei ve zihinsel sureclerin etkisiyle olu§an soylemsel pratikler olarak degerlendiren bir cevirmen icin, kaynak metindeki ideolojik icerigin anla§ilmasi ceviri sureci acisindan buyuk onem ta§ir. Metinde ideolojik gostergeler sunan bicim ve anlamlan cozumlemek, bili§sel siirecleri etkileyen toplumsal kurumlann ve degerlerin dilsel yapilarla nasil yansitildigini aciklamaktir. Bu amaca yonelik dilbilimsel bir yontem olan "Elestirel Soylem Q6zumlemesi"nden ceviride de yararlanilabilir. Yontem, ozellikle, kaynak metindeki ideolojileri belirleyerek amac metinde ideolojik e§degerlik saglamak isteyen cevirmene yardimci ola-caktir. "ESQ"ni ceviri kurami ile de baglantili dilbilimsel yontemlerden biri olarak ele alan bu yazi, once yonte-min temel ilkelerini aciklamakta, daha sonra, surecleri bir Turkce §iir uzerinde orneklemektedir. Son olarak, cevirmenin kaynak metne daha ele§tirel bir gozle bak-masini saglayacak bir dizi oneri sunulmaktadir.
