Abstract
The article starts from Niklas Luhmann's ..Social System" theory and tries to apply the social systems concept to translation. The author combines Luhmann's reflections with his own view of the theme. Thus a few, partly perhaps controversial ideas assumed to be important for translation are briefly discribed for further discussion.
