Abstract
One of the oldest education theories in human history is idealist educational philosophy which emerged in ancient Greece mind and was systematized by Plato with spiritual leadership of Socrates. When we especially look at the theoretical background of this educational philosophy based on meronymy between universe and human, we confront epistemological and ontological thinking systems of ancient Indian philosophy. Defending universal principles which lead all humanity and are based on values such as beauty, justice, virtue and righteousness, idealist philosophy was constructed on the idea of stability of these moral values in the point of place, time and circumstances. Idealist education view generally affected whole medieval world of ideas and literary products written in medieval ages have their share of this mentioned axiological impact. In this context, literary works known as nasihatname (book of advice) were written in literature circle of Eastern aesthetics with sentimental motivation almost the same didactical apprehension as idealism. Written by Güvahi in XVI. century Pend-name is also a nasihatname and essential aim of the book is to explain the principles as whole for ideal human and community typology with reference to proverbs which were became a part of Anatolian geograhpy’s social memory within an didactical style. This study is intended to determine and to do an inter-disciplinary examination of Güvahi’s pend-name written in XVI. century as an advice book with a didactical style in terms of value oriented principles and intellectual references to characteristics of idealist educational philosophy.
