Biological characteristics of a strawberry tree type (Arbutus unedo L.) grown in Giresun

Abstract
The study aimed to determine the plant characteristics of a strawberry tree (Arbutus unedo L.), type grown in Giresun. The estimate old of tree is 25 year, the thickness of trunk is 16 cm, annual shoot length is 18.50 cm, the thickness of shoot is 3.14 mm, leaf area is 18.64 cm2, the ash content of leaf is 2.39 % 'on side of north; annual average shoot length is 11.53 cm, the thickness of shoot is 3.66 mm, the leaf area is 16.0 cm2 and the content of ashes is 2.74 % on side of south. In this type, fruit weight was 10.71 g, the fruit width was 27.96 mm, the fruit length is 24.37 mm, pH is'3:5 and TSS is 22.9 %.
Özet
Çalışma, Giresun merkez ilçede yetiştirilen bir kocayemiş tipinin bitkisel özelliklerini belirlemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Ağacın tahmini yaşı 25, gövde çapı 16 cm, kuzey tarafta yıllık sürgün uzunluğu 18.50 cm, sürgün çapı 3.14 mm, yaprak alanı 18.64 cm2 ve yaprağın kül içeriği % 2.39; güney tarafta yıllık sürgün uzunluğu 11.53 cm, sürgün çapı 3.66 mm, yaprak alanı 16.00 cm2 ve yaprağın kül içeriği % 2.74 olarak belirlenmiştir. Meyvenin ağırlığı 10.71 g, eni 27.96 mm, boyu 24.37 mm, olarak ölçülmüş, meyvede pH 3.5 ve SÇKM % 22.9 olarak saptanmıştır.
