Situation and development of foreing trade and agricultural products in Turkey

Abstract

In this study, structure and development of Turkey’s foreign trade of agricultural products were examined. Used datas were collected in SITC classification from DPT and DTM sources. In examined period, Turkey’s import and export of agricultural products quantity and value has been increasing since 1970’s. However, there have been changes in products composition in this trade. This study showed that, share of foodstuffs has been decreasing while raw material’s share has been increasing in agricultural products import and opposite situation realized in agricultural products export in examined period.

Özet

Bu çalışmada, Türkiye’nin tarım ürünleri dış ticaretinin yapısı ve gelişimi incelenmiştir. Çalışmada kullanılan veriler, SITC sınıflandırması esas alınarak DPT ve DTM kaynaklarından derlenmiştir. İncelenen dönemde, Türkiye’nin tarım ürünleri ithalat, ihracat miktarı ve değeri 1970’den günümüze kadar artmış ve bu ticaretin ürün bileşimi değişmiştir. Çalışmanın sonucunda, incelenen dönemde, tarım ürünleri ithalatı içerisinde gıda maddelerinin payının azalırken tarımsal hammaddelerin payının arttığı, ihracatta ise tersi durum gerçekleştiği görülmüştür.
