Özet

Çeviribilim dahil olmak üzere herhangi bir bilim dalının önemli bir kısmını, o bilim dalının tarihi oluşturur. Çünkü tarihte, sadece bilimin değil herhangi bir toplumsal olayın çağdaş durumunun ipuçları saklıdır. Tarihi incelemeler, günümüzde yapılan bilimsel araştırmaların ve uygulanan yöntemlerin temellerini anlamamızı sağlar. Çeviri faaliyetleri, eski çağlara kadar uzanan bir tarihe sahiptir. Çeviri tarihinin her bir gelişim aşamasında, belirli bir dönemde ve belirli bir ülkede, o döneme ve o ülkeye özgü özellikleri vardır. Bugünlerde Rusya ve Ukrayna'nın bulunduğu coğrafyada ilk çevirilerin X. yüzyılda Kiev Rus Devleti döneminde yapıldığı, izleyen yüzyıllarda da aynı coğrafyada kurulan, devam eden ve son bulan Moğol Devleti, Moskova Çarlığı, Rzeczpospolita, Rus İmparatorluğu, Sovyetler Birliği gibi devletlerde yoğun bir biçimde çeviri faaliyetlerinin gerçekleştiği bilinir. Bir çeşit insan faaliyeti olarak kabul edilen çevirinin uzun bir tarihi olduğu halde çeviribilim XX. yüzyılın ortalarına doğru ancak oluşan bir bilim dalıdır. Sovyetler Birliği'nde, dağılmasının ardından da Rusya'da ve bağımsızlığına kavuşan Ukrayna'da çeviribilim uzmanları birçok bilimsel eser vermiş, çeviri kuramının gelişimine katkıda bulunmuştur. Bu makalenin amacı, tarihi açıdan eleştirel kaynak incelemesi yaparak, Rusya ve Ukrayna'yı kapsayan geniş bir coğrafyada gerçekleşen çeviri faaliyetlerini, yapılan çevirileri ve çeviri kuramı ile ilgili görüşleri incelemektir. Bunun yanı sıra çeviri alanında çalışan en önemli isimlerin bilimsel yapıtları ve Rusça ve Ukraynaca'ya çevrilen Türkçe edebi eserler üzerinde durulmuştur. Aynı zamanda küreselleşme süreci içinde bulunan dünyamızda, farklı ülkelerde çalışan bilim adamlarının başka ülkelerde yapılan bilimsel araştırmalara ulaşabilmesi önemlidir. Bu yüzden makalenin bir başka amacı da Türkiye'de çeviribilim alanında çalışan uzmanlara Rusya ve Ukrayna'daki çeviri faaliyetleri ve çeviribilim çalışmaları ile ilgili bilgi vermektir.

Abstract

The history of every branch of knowledge, including the theory of translation, is a very important part of the field of study due to the fact that history gives the clue for the modern state of any social phenomenon and not only in the sphere of science or knowledge. Historical research provides our understanding of the investigations carried out and methods applied nowadays. Translation activities have a long history that goes back to ancient times. Each stage of the history of translation development in a certain period of time and country comprises features and characteristics inherent for the particular period of time and country. Nowadays we have got scientific evidence that the first translations on the territory of modern Russia and Ukraine were made in the Xth century in the times of the Kievan Rus' State. Translation activities were very intense in the states that arose, existed and disappeared on those territories as the Mongol Empire, the Tsardom of Moscow, the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth (Rzeczpospolita), the Russian Empire, the Soviet Union. Although translation is considered to be a type of human activity that has a long history, translation theory is a branch of arts that was formed in the middle of the XX century. Specialists in the sphere of translation, in the Soviet Union and after its dissolution in Russia and Ukraine that renewed independence, wrote many scientific works and made valuable contributions to the development of the theory of translation. The aim of this paper is to investigate translation activities, translated literary works and propounded opinions concerning translation studies, using the method of critical analysis of historical sources. The most outstanding researchers in the sphere of translation studies in Russia and Ukraine and their scientific works as well as Turkish literary works translated into Russian and Ukrainian are other topics of the paper. At the same time, in the atmosphere of globalization in which the world is developing and living nowadays, it's very important for scientists from all over the world to get access to the scientific research made in other countries. That's why another aim of this scientific paper is to provide Turkish scientists, working in the sphere of translation theory, with information about translation studies and activities in Russia and Ukraine.
