Abstract

The purpose of this research was to determine the effects of different temperature and humidity conditions on body temperatures and body weight gain of broilers from different genotypes. In summer season, the temperature, humidity and total heat of inside air were measured as 28.35±0.98oC, %54.52±1.9, 14.98±0.65kcal.kg-1 in the 4th week; 27.13±0.63oC, %85.58±1.98, 18.28±0.36 kcal.kg-1 in the 5th and 28.98±1.16 oC, %62.85 ±3.58, 16.63±0.66kcal.kg-1 in the 6th week, respectively. In winter season, the temperature, humidity and total heat of inside air were measured as 11.61±0.44oC, %78.04±1.34, 6.75±0.16kcal/kg in the 4th week; 9.90±0.54oC, %70.22±1.13, 5.57±0.22 kcal.kg-1 in the 5th week and 11.11±0.46 oC, %82.40±0.74 and 6.71±0.22 kcal.kg-1 in the 6th week, respectively. In summer season, there was a significant difference between the genotypes for body temperatures at the afternoon hours (1400-1600 pm) and, the indigenous genotype had higher body temperatures (42.07±0.32 oC) than the heterozygous naked neck genotype (41.73±0.19 oC). Also in winter season, there was a significant difference between the genotypes for body temperatures at the afternoon hours (1400-1600 pm) and, the indigenous genotype had higher body temperature (41.38±0.06 oC) than the heterozygous naked neck genotype (41.19±0.12 oC).There was no significant difference between the genotypes for body weight in summer season. But, in winter season there was significant difference between the body weight of genotypes as it was measured 2086.02±29.61g for the indigenous genotype and 1699.02±30.72g for the heterozygous naked neck genotype.
