Özet

Bu çalışmanın amacı, çeviribilimde yeniden çevrimlerin araştırmasına daha fazla ilgi gösterilmesi gerektiğini vurgulamak ve yeniden çevrimlerin, çevirmenlik-yaratıcı yazarlık ekseninde ortaya konmuş ürünler olduğuna dikkati çekmektir. Yeniden çevrimler hakkında, çeviribilimde, az sayıda çalışma yapılmış olması, bu alanın, kimi zaman, göz ardı edildiğine işaret etmektedir. Bir televizyon dizisinin yeniden çevrimi, söz konusu görsel-işitsel ürünün ikinci bir yerel izleyici kitlesine ulaşmasını sağlar. Bu aktarım gerçekleştirilirken de daha dolaylı yollardan iletim sağlanır. Bu nedenle, yeniden çevrimler metinlerin kültürlerarası aktarımına örnekler oluşturur ve yaratıcı aktarım stratejilerine de ışık tutabilirler. Bu düşünceleri irdelemek amacıyla The Jeffersons dizisinin Türkiye'de Tatlı Hayat olarak yeniden çevrimi incelenmiştir

Abstract

This study is an effort to underline the suggestion that more attention should be devoted in translation studies to the study of remakes and exemplify that certain types of remakes may be viewed as a creative type of translation. It is argued that remakes are overlooked in the discipline, as the limited number of studies in translation studies on this subject seems to imply. The remake of a TV series makes this audiovisual product accessible to a second domestic audience in what could be referred to as a more complex and maybe sometimes more creatively free fashion. Thus, remakes can provide valuable examples of strategies and approaches to successful mediations of texts across cultures. To this end, the Turkish remake of the American TV series The Jeffersons into Tatlı Hayat is studied in terms of the strategies employed in its mediation into Turkish
