Abstract
This article concerns the Byzantine anonymous folles today in the Bolu Museum and of the distribution in Anatolia of those anonymous folles whichdate from the Middle Byzantine period. 394 Byzantinecoins are in the Bolu museum collection. Of these coins, 11 are gold, 2 are silver, imitations of the solidus ofemperor Anastasius (491-518) and of ConstantinusVII (913-959). 381 of the coins are bronze, one ofwhich is a counterfeit. 184 of the bronze coins are anonymous folles and there is a catalogue of them. As isevident, about 50% of all these coins in the museumcollection are anonymous folles. The imperial bronzeanonymous folles struck, differ from others in previouscenturies in two main respects. Firstly there is a portraitof Christ on them, which had been preferred and employed earlier on gold coins. The other is that these coinswere not struck on behalf of any emperors. In conclusion, the Byzantine anonymous folles in theBolu Museum are compared with the folles in othermuseums and those finds from excavations in Anatolia.
Constantinus (913-959) Dönemi soliduslarının taklitleridir) ve 381'i bronzdur (1'i sahtedir).
