Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the problems of packing houses which are exporting citrus in Mersin province and ascertain the solution of existing problems. In the study, surveys were conducted with all 67 packing houses that operating in Mersin province in January of 2014. The data obtained from the survey was constructed by calculating descriptive analysis. Factor analysis, one of the multivariate analyses techniques, was implemented in the study. 25 major problems received from citrus packing houses officials and summarized in 16 variables within 3 factors groups which are R&D and competition, finance and marketing, and also production costs that are issues which the citrus sector come up against.

Özet

Bu çalışmanın amacı, Mersin ilinde bulunan turunçgil ihracatı yapan paketleme tesislerinin yaşadıkları sorunların ortaya konulması ve mevcut sorunların çözümü konusunda öneriler ortaya koymaktır. Çalışmada, Mersin ilinde faaliyet gösteren 67 tesisin tamamıyla 2014 yılının Ocak ayı içerisinde anketler yapılmıştır. Anketlerle elde edilen veriler kullanılarak ulaşılan tanımlayıcı istatistikler yorumlanarak değerlendirilmeye çalışılmıştır. Çalışmada çok değişkenli analiz tekniklerinden olan faktör analizi kullanılmıştır. Turunçgil paketleme tesisleri yetkililerinin önemli olarak gördüğü 25 önemli sorun ortaklık unsuru dikkate alınarak 16 değişkene indirilmiş ve 3 faktörde toplanması ile sonuçlanmıştır. Elde edilen sonuçlar çerçevesinde Ar-Ge ve rekabet, finansman ve pazarlama ile üretim maliyetleri sektörün yaşadığı sorunları ifade eden faktörler olarak belirlenmiştir.
