Abstract
Streptococcus pneumoniae is the most common cause of bacterial meningitis. The mortality and morbidity of pneumococcal meningitis is high. A fatal case of pneumococcal meningoencephalitis with cortical cerebritis, ventricular fluid-fluid level and cerebellar infarction was reported to highlight the importance of pneumococcal vaccination and adjunctive treatment options.
