PROF. DR. ADNAN BERKEL'İN KERESTE ENDÜSTRİSİ DERS NOTUNDA TERİM KULLANIMININ İNCELENMESİ

Abstract

In this study, use of term at "Kereste Endüstrisi" lecture note which was written in 1948 by Prof.Dr. Adnan BERKEL was examined. The examination of this text, which could be considered Turkey's first Turkish lumber industry lecture note, indicated that sufficient number of terms (400 terms, 4709 uses) were used. The most commonly used terms are respectively "tomruk", "destere" and "tahta". These terms are the key componenets of this industry showes that terms were used effectively. During the period which the note was written, framesaws were used widely, although today bandsaws are used widely in lumber manufacturing. Technological state of the period was reflected to the use of term. Framesaw and associated terms were more used than bandsaw and associated terms (respectively 551 and 99)

Özet

Bu çalışma kapsamında, 1948 yılında Prof. Dr. Adnan BERKEL tarafından yazılan "Kereste Endüstrisi" ders notundaki terim kullanımı incelenmiştir. Türkiye'nin ilk Türkçe kereste endüstrisi ders notu niteliğinde sayılabilecek bu metnin incelenmesi sonucunda, yeterli düzeyde denilebilecek sayıda (400 terim, 4709 kullanım) terime yer verildiği tespit edilmiştir. En çok kullanılan ilk üç terimin sırasıyla "tomruk", "destere" ve "tahta" olması, bu endüstrinin temel bileşenleri olmasından dolayı, terim kullanımının etkin bir biçimde yapıldığını gösterdiği söylenebilir. Ayrıca günümüzde daha yaygın olarak şerit testere kullanılmasına karşın, metnin yazıldığı dönemde yaygın olarak kullanılan katrak testeresi ve bunla ile ilgili terimlerin daha fazla kullanılması (sırasıyla; 99 ve 551), dönemin teknolojik durumunun terimlere yansıdığını da gösterdiği söylenebilir
