Alptegin's Relations With Samanid Amirs And His Activities In Ghazni And Tocharistan

ALP TEGİN’İN SÂMÂNÎ EMÎRLERİYLE OLAN MÜNASEBETLERİ, GAZNE VE TOHÂRİSTAN’DAKİ FAALİYETLERİ

Abstract

Alptigin, the founder of the Ghaznavid State, one of the greatest states in the Turkish history, is a slave, originally purchased by Samanid Amir Ahmed bin Ismail. Because he was in the service of Samanid Amir, he had been well educated since his early ages and in a short time he had risen to important positions within the Samanid State. Adding strength to his power over time, Alptigin began to pose problems for the Samanid State. Due to these problems he had with the senior executives of the Samanid State, he set out to go to the city of Ghazni, a convenient place for the campaigns to India, after leaving the tasks he was doing for Samanids. However, the Samanid forces caught him by following when they could not go to India yet. Alptigin won the battle between the two armies and the Samanid army suffered a great defeat. Alptigin, after his victory in Hulm Strait in April 962, first moved towards Tocharistan. Later, he defeated Abu Bakr Levik (Enuk), the king of Gazne, in 12th January 963 and captured Gazne. After these important achievements, Alptigin took possession of both the territories of Tocharistan and Ghazni and the set up the foundation for the Ghaznavid State, whose influence will continue for a long time.

Türk Tarihindeki büyük devletlerden biri olan Gazneli Devleti’nin müessisi olan Alp Tegin esasen Sâmânî emîri Ahmed b. İsmâil tarafından satın alınan bir gulâmdır. Sâmânî emirinin hizmetinde olması sebebiyle küçük yaşlardan itibaren iyi öğrenim gördü ve kısa zamanda Sâmânî Devleti içerisinde mühim vazifelere yükseldi. Zamanla gücüne güç katan Alp Tegin, Sâmânî Devleti için sorun oluşturmaya başladı. Sâmânî Devletinin üst düzey yöneticileri ile yaşadığı problemler sebebiyle Sâmânîler için sürdürdüğü vazifeleri bırakarak, Hindistan’a yapacağı gazalar için uygun bir yer olan Gazne şehrine gitmek için yola çıktı. Ancak Hindistan’a gidemeden Samani kuvvetleri arkasından geldi. İki ordu arasındaki mücadeleyi Alp Tegin kazandı ve Sâmânî ordusunu büyük bir yenilgiye uğrattı. Alp Tegin Nisan 962’de Hulm Boğazı’nda elde ettiği bu zaferden sonra ilk olarak Tohâristan topraklarına yöneldi. Daha sonra ise Gazne hâkimi Ebû Bekr Levîk’i (Enük) 12 Ocak 963’te mağlup ederek Gazne’yi elde etti. Bu önemli başarılardan sonra Alp Tegin Tohâristan ve Gazne topraklarını ele geçirdi ve etkisi uzun bir müddet devam edecek olan Gazneliler Devleti’nin temellerini attı.
