Abstract
Alevîsm, with its characteristic of esoteric interpretation, resembles the Shii İsmailiya rather than the Twelveİmam Shiism. The effect of Nizariİsmailiyas and Galiye clans that form the basis of İsmailiyas is clear in the interpretations made on religious rules. This effect emerges as a result of both geographical and historical conditions. The interpretation of Alevîes regarding namaz is that namaz is “salat”, which means “petition to Allah”. This interpretation reveals the influence of the Nizari İsmailiyas, who have a similar interpretation.
