Word Derivatıon Methods in Turkish

Abstract

Turkish, as a language, is structurally located in the class of ''post-agglutinative languages'' which is a part of ''agglutinative langauages'' group. By attaching these suffixes, Turkish language derives noun and verb based from grammatic words or provides these words to be used in the syntax. Also analogy and portmanteau (combined words) methods are among the other methods of drivings words, in order to meet the new terms and conditions. Beside these, it is observed that some of grammatic words are derived trough switching the voices in the stem of words. In this study, method of voice switching in Turkish and the grammatic words, derived by means of this method, is goingto be studied.

Özet

Türkçe, yapı bakımından eklemeli diller grubunun sondan eklemeli diller sınıfında yer alır. Türkçe bu eklerle, isim ve fiil tabanlarından dil bilgilik sözcükler türetir ya da sözcüklerin sözdiziminde kullanımını sağlar. Dildeki yeni kavram ve durumları karşılamak için birleşik sözcük yapmak, örnekseme yöntemini kullanmak da Türkçenin sözcük türetmede başvurduğu yöntemler arasındadır. Bunların dışında, Türkiye Türkçesinde kimi dil bilgilik sözcüklerin, bükün yöntemine benzer bir şekilde sözcük tabanlarında ses değişimi yoluyla ortaya çıktığı görülmektedir. Bu çalışmada Türkiye Türkçesinde ses değişimi yöntemi ve bu yöntemle türemiş dil bilgilik sözcükler incelenecektir.
