Proper manure storage conditions for intensive livestock production areas of Ankara

Abstract
The most important problems related to livestock manure management emerged at storage and handling stages in livestock production. Inappropriate storage conditions such as long-term storage in outdoor cause loss of nutritional value of manure in addition to possible pollution of soil, water and air. This study aimed to determine appropriate storage conditions for livestock manure and current construction costs of manure storage structures and to design manure storage structures according the capacities of livestock enterprises in intensive livestock production areas of Ankara province. Protection of human, animal and environmental health, control of harmful effects of livestock production to environment and public awareness will be provided on this issue in rural areas with proper manure storage structures designed based on farm and climate conditions for different production capacities.
Özet
Hayvancılıkta gübre yönetimi ile ilgili en önemli sorunlar depolama ve değerlendirme aşamalarında ortaya çıkmaktadır. Açıkta ve uzun süreli biriktirme biçiminde uygun olmayan depolama koşulları, elde edilen ham gübrenin besin değerinin azalmasının yanında toprak, su ve hava kirliliği de yaratabilmektedir. Bu çalışmada, Ankara İli’ndeki yoğun hayvancılık alanlarında, farklı hayvancılık kapasitelerine göre uygun depolama koşullarının belirlenmesi, gübre depolama yapılarının projelenmesi ve güncel maliyetlerinin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Böylece, araştırma alanı için iklim ve işletme koşullarına göre farklı kapasitelerde gübre depolama yapıları ile insan, hayvan ve çevre sağlığının korunması, hayvansal üretim yapılarının çevreye yaptığı zararlı etkilerin kontrol edilmesi ve kırsal alandaki halkın bu konuda bilinçlendirilmesi sağlanabilecektir.
