The Investigation of The Relationship Between Individual Innovation and Industry 4.0 Knowledge Levels of Y Generation University Students

Abstract
The aim of the study is to examine the relationship between the individual innovations of university students representing the Y generation and the knowledge levels of Industry 4.0. In this context, firstly the concept of generation, generation classification, generational differences, definition of individual innovation concept, industry 4.0 process and its characteristics are explained and then the relation between concepts is examined statistically. In this research, 321 student questionnaires were applied at Giresun University. The obtained data were evaluated by SPSS analysis program. The result of the data analysis showed that it was found that individual innovativeness situations were independent from gender, education level and the level of knowledge about industry 4.0.The aim of the study is to examine the relationship between the individual innovations of university students representing the Y generation and the knowledge levels of Industry 4.0. Özet
Söz konusu çalışmanın amacı, Y kuşağını temsil eden üniversite öğrencilerinin bireysel yenilikçilik ve Endüstri 4.0 kavramları hakkındaki bilgi düzeylerini ve bu kavramlar arasındaki ilişkiyi incelemektir. Bu bağlamda çalışmada öncelikle kuşak kavramı, kuşak sınıflandırılması, kuşaklararası farklılıklar, bireysel yenilikçilik kavramının tanımlanmış, sonrasında ise Endüstri 4.0 kavramı ve özellikleri açıklanarak kavramlar arasındaki ilişki istatiksel olarak incelenmiştir. Çalışmanın amacı doğrultusunda Giresun Üniversitesi İktisadi ve İdari Bilimler Fakültesi’nde öğrenim gören 321 öğrenciye bireysel yenilikçilik ve endüstri 4.0 bilgi düzeylerini belirlemeye yönelik ölçekler uygulanmıştır. Elde edilen veriler, SPSS analiz programı ile değerlendirilmiştir. Yapılan istatistiksel analizler sonucunda, öğrencilerin bireysel yenilikçilik durumları ile cinsiyetleri, eğitim düzeyleri ve endüstri 4.0 kavramını daha önce duyup duymamaları arasındaki ilişkilerinin bağımsız olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.
