Abstract
The ongoing process with being widen of the animal import including livestocks and meat import as from 2010 year which was for procurement of animal for breeding before 2008 crisis, nowadays, is in an important point on import in particular in livestock industry, in general in foreign trade with regards to the effects to the economy of Turkey. Within this context, the key factors which affected the meat import in Turkey in the period of 2003-2017 were tested with a Granger Causality Analysis in this study. According to this; the price of meat is the reason for meat import. The prices of meat are the reason for meat production. Similarly, meat import is the reason for meat production. When the variables as meat import, the price of meat and the prices of feed are included in the model collectively; an effect on meat production has been established. When the variables as meat import, meat production and the prices of feed meat import, are included in the model collectively, an effect on meat price has been established.
Özet
2008 krizi öncesinde damızlık temini amacıyla yapılan hayvan ithalatının 2010 yılından itibaren canlı hayvan ve et ithalatını kapsayacak şekilde genişletilmesi ile birlikte devam eden süreç, günümüzde Türkiye ekonomisine etkileri açısından; özelde hayvancılık sektöründe, genelde ise dış ticarette ithalat üzerinde önemli bir noktada yer almaktadır. Bu bağlamda çalışmada 2003-2017 yılları arasında Türkiye’de et ithalatını etkileyen ana faktörler Granger nedensellik analizi ile test edilmektedir. Buna göre; et fiyatı et ithalatının nedeni çıkmıştır. Et fiyatları, et üretiminin nedeni çıkmıştır. Benzer şekilde et ithalatı, et üretiminin nedeni çıkmıştır. Et ithalatı, et fiyatları ve yem fiyatları değişkenleri modele toplu olarak dahil edildiğinde; et üretimi üzerinde etkisi bulunmuştur.
