Abstract
Authority means ordering, obeying, the rights, power and influence. The terms traditional, charismatic and rational authority was improved by Max Weber. Hamid Dabaşi who adapted this typologies to Islamic history had defined the Prophet’s authority as charizmatic authority. But the charizmatic authority is still artificial. The prophet’s authority is rational, it is supported by divine inspiration and discussed by the companions of the prophet Muhammed. As a result, to name The Prophet’s authority as Nabawî authority is more extensive than charizmatic one
