Abstract
Lipomas are the most common benign mesenchymal tumors and 13% of all lipomas are located in the head and neck region. Lipomas of the submandibular space are relatively uncommon with the prevalence of 1%. They are divided into three types; superficial lipoma if it arises within subcutaneous tissue, deep lipoma if it arises within deep soft tissue and parosteal lipoma if it arises within surfaces of the bone. Although lipomas are generally diagnosed by clinical examination, imaging studies and histopathological examination can aid in establishing the diagnosis. Here, we aimed to present a case of a patient with submandibular lipoma whom had painless swelling in the left submandibular region for three years, with his imaging findings.
