Abstract
Kef Fortress is located within the borders of Adilcevaz District of Bitlis Province. The fortress was founded as a royal city during the reign of Rusa, son of the Urartian King Argishti. In the part of the city called Upper City, the Palace building is located. An average depth of three meters is required to uncover the walls of the palace. The georadar method was employed to detect these walls. This method allows for the detection of subsoil structures and working on the site non-invasively (without causing damage). The georadar data were interpreted using Reflex 2D and three-dimensional graphics software. This study examines the results of the georadar method used to investigate Kef Fortress. Furthermore, the data obtained from the excavation works, including 2D underground georadar images, radargram cross-section, 3D georadar view, level floor map, and amplitude scale, are also included. This study shows how the georadar technology, which allows archaeologists to analyze the site more quickly and efficiently, was utilized for the Kef Fortress. The results of this study will guide the new period excavations.
