Abstract

Despite the ratio of the total body fluid in children is higher than adults the speed of the extracellular fluid s turnover make them more susceptible to the dehydration In recent years the oral fluid replacement therapy is used widespread in mild and moderate dehidration states but parenteral replacement therapy is required in cases of severe dehydration and in hypovolemic shock In this article we discussed the states requiring parenteral fluid therapy and the principles of this therapy Key words: Parenteral Fluid And Electrolytes Therapy
