An Overview of Foreign Direct Investments in the World Economy within the Context of Globalization

Abstract

This study investigates the current gravity of foreign direct investments (FDI). In this context, the study is composed of three sections. In the first section, FDI's are defined and horizontal and vertical FDI's are described. The second section examines the transnational corporations as FDI makers. The last section investigates the geographical and sectoral dispersion of FDIs throughout developed and developing countries.

Özet

Bu çalışmada doğrudan yabancı yatırım (DYY)'ların günümüzde ulaştığı boyut araştırılmaktadır. Bu bağlamda çalışma üç bölümden oluşmaktadır. Birinci bölümde DYY'lar tanımlanarak yatay ve dikey DYY'lar hakkında bilgi verilmektedir. İkinci bölümde DYY'ları gerçekleştiren aktörler olarak ulus-ötesi sirket (UÖŞ)'ler incelenmektedir. Son bölümde ise, DYY'ların coğrafi ve sektörel dağılımı gelişmiş ülkeler ve gelişmekte olan ülkeler açısından değerlendirilmektedir.
