JIEES, Yaz ve Kış aylarında yayınlanan olmak üzere yılda iki kere yayınlanan akademik bir dergidir. Doğu Avrupa devletlerinin tarihi, coğrafyası, antropolojisi, etnolojisi, dilbilimsel ve uluslararası ilişkileriyle ilgili Türkçe, İngilizce ve Rusça makaleler, “çift kör değerlendirme” sürecinden sonra yayımlanmak üzere kabul edilmektedir. İlk sayıdan itibaren JIEES, ResearchBib, Asos Index ve Eurasian Scientific Journal Index gibi indekslerde yer alıp taranmaktadır.
