Çalışmada ülkemizde telif hukukunun 157 yıllık bir geçmişi olduğu gerçeği ortaya çıkartılmayaçalışılmış; ülkemize telif hakları kavramının ilk olarak 1850 tarihli Encümen-i Daniş Nizamnamesiile girdiği, Osmanlı Devleti’nde telif haklarına dair ilk ana mevzuatın 1857 tarihliTelif Nizamnamesi olduğu, 1870 yılında Telif Nizamnamesi’ni tamamlar şekilde Telif ve TercümeNizamnamesi yürürlüğe konulduğu, Osmanlı Devleti’nde telif haklarına dair ikinci anamevzuatın 1910 tarihli Hakk-ı Telif Kanunu olduğu ortaya konulmuştur.
