Abstract
Ther has been nearly a consensus that the princes and other rulers have played critical roles in the establishmnent and development of Anatolian Seljuks. As a leading statesman, Esededin served the state during the period of Gıyaseddin Keyhüsrev, I and his sons İzzettin Keykavus I. and Alaeddin Keykubad. In different times, Esededdin also undertook several posts in the state in such capacities as a Uc Beyi, Atabey, Emir-i Ahur, Şarab-salâr and Subaşı. This study examines his life, personality and especially his role in the developmet of the state.

Türkiye Selçuklu Devletinin kuruluşunda, gelişmesinde, ümeranın çok farklı kendine has birfonksiyonu olduğunu biliyoruz. Emir Esededdin Ayaz da bunlardan biridir. Emir EseddinAyaz, I. Gıyaseddin Keyhüsrev ve oğulları I. İ. Keykavus, I. Alaeddin Keykubad dönemlerindedevlete hizmet eden güngörmüş bir devlet adamıdır. Emir Esededdin, zaman zaman Uc Beyi,Atabey, Emir-i Ahur, Şarab-salâr, Subaşı gibi görevleri uhdesinde bulundurmuştur. Ayrıcaimarcı bir şahsiyet olarak görülüyor. Çalışmamızda bu konular üzerinde durulacaktır.
