Böylece transplante serbest periost greftinin etkisi ön plana çıkarılarak iyileşmedeki etkisi araştırıldı. Kırık iyileşmesi deney grubunda ilerlemiş bulundu, kontrolde ise çok az gelişme vardı. Bu da kırık iyileşmesinde önemli faktörlerin yok edildiği bir durumda bile transplante serbest periost greftinin osteojenik aktivitesini sürdürmekte olduğunu ortaya koymaktadır.
